She was 47 years old upon evaluation and was felt to be an excellent candidate for a SignatureLift. A SignatureLift is a North Carolina face lift designed by Dr. Freeman for those patients who need modest improvement in the jowl and neck area and do not necessarily need a deep plane approach. The advantage of a SignatureLift is that it can be performed under local anesthesia with oral sedation and being a short flap face lift there is little bruising and swelling following the procedure. She had an upper lid blepharoplasty and a lower lid blepharoplasty. The lower lid blepharoplasty included a SOOF lift which is a mid face lifting technique originally published by Dr. Freeman which greatly improves the result of eyelid surgery in his NC patients. Most of his lower lid surgery is done with an incision inside the eyelid and includes lifting the contiguous mid face to fill in the hollow that develops beneath the lower lid as we age.
